The Summer Palace
Beijing is an amazing place. I definitely
want to go back for another visit (this
time with my wife.) There are
countless sites to see. This page has
a few of my images of the Summer
Palace which is just outside of Beijing.
It is easy to spend a full day wandering
around the palace courtyards and
gardens. Tour guides are readily
available for a modest price. The
government is encouraging students to
find English speaking people to
practice speaking English with in order
to prepare them for the upcoming
summer Olympics which will be held
there in Beijing.

The Chinese people are into symbolism
bigtime! This is one of hundreds of nightmarish
statues that adorn the many courtyards and
stand guard at entrances.

In the spring time this lake is covered in beautiful Water Lilly's.
The hand painted artwork on all the buildings is beautiful and very detailed. The walkway
pictured below is one mile long. How long do you think it took the artists to paint that?
